Compare the ‘Before’ and ‘After’ photos above with special attention to the patient’s profile.
In the ‘Before’ photo, the patient’s deep bite (notice in the ‘Before’ photo below, the patient’s lower teeth are overlapped by the top row) resulted in a short lower face height (distance between the base of the nose to the underside of the chin) and retrognathia (no chin).
After Dr. Peter’s treatment, the patient achieved a more pleasing lower face height and a strong, defined chin. Treatment also resulted in better breathing for the patient.
Notice how much we have opened the bite with retainers (the difference in width between the orange lines).
